Is this Olympus DM-420 digital recorder completely SILENT?

I want to know if I hide it in a room, set to record for like 3 hours, will it be completely silent without any clicking of any kind, and will it record for that long with no one being aware of it (no noise coming from it).
sure, could be done. recording voices in a situation where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy could lead to legal difficulty if done without a court order.

Zoom h2 recorder!!!!!!!?
Will the zoom h2 recorder be good for band recording? I play drums and i dont hav drum mics currently so will the recorder pickup the sound well? I had a crappy 60$ voice recorder and the drums sounded like blocks and bricks will this b tha same?
John – The Zoom should work fine. You just need to keep an eye on the recording levels on the Zoom. Don’t overload it – adjust the record level down if necessary.

What kind of microphone will work with the ipod touch by plugging into the headphone jack?
I have an ipod touch 2nd generation. I already know that some microphones can work when plugged into the ipod touch’s headphone jack. I just need the name of a specific model of microphone that can do that. Also, i heard an ipod touch-compatible microphone was released in october 2008.

Can you start watching a DVR recording before the program is over?
So I have a Motorola DVR from my cable company. There is a game I want to watch tomorrow that starts at 8:30 and will end at 10:30-11ish, so I set the DVR to record it, all good there. Now what I am wondering is can I start watching the recording at 9:30 from the start, while it continues to record the rest of the game?
