Question about my Midland wr-100 weather alert? please fast?
I’m getting ready to go to bed, but am about to have severe weather during the night. I have a midland alert and have plugged it in and it’s sounding local radio and giving messages from the NWS. But I was wondering if I keep the sound off in the night ( so I don’t have to hear the monotone man talking all night), will the alarm still go off and turn the alert all the way on, should there be a tornado in the area?
or is there a special way I have to go through and program it to go off?

What are some of the best weather radio’s?
I’m looking to buy a good weather radio which is not only powered by AC but also DC, plus are there weather radio’s available that can be plugged into a cigarette lighter in a vehicle?

MIDLAND WR300 Weather Radio is a nice model and I like the AM/FM feature. The problem I continually have had with every radio is that we live in the middle of the coverage areas and don’t get the best signal at times. I have solved this by putting a Chore Boy stainless steel scrub pad on the antenna. It definitely improves the reception and seems to do better that foil. Other than that I think this is the best one I have had.

How to turn off the alarm clock on this weather radio?
I have the “Portable Handheld NWR-SAME Weatheradio” and somehow the alarm clock setting was turned on. I’ve gone through the menus and the owners manual (here: http://support.radioshack.com/support_meters/doc72/72242.pdf ) And I can’t find anything about turning the alarm clock off. Does anybody know how to turn it off?
